PHYSICAL TRAINING & SPORTS

FBI NATIONAL ACADEMY

The physical training and sports programs at the National Academy provided an outlet for exhausting built up energy, building relationships and competative exchanges. For those of us that were not runners when we arrived at the academy, we soon learned that running was going to be a way of life. Some non-runners ran as much as 12 - 18 miles per week.

Many listened to the class on "How to buy Running Shoes" and went out and did just that. The opportunity to run through the woods, in hilly country and through varied seasons (from fall to full blown winter) was an experience in and of itself (especially for our guests from Florida, Shr Lanka, Africa and other places.) The encouragement of having your entire class applauding the last few runners as they came in, while they stood in the rain was a statement of team work and kinship.
